Wednesday saw another record-high increase in coronavirus positives in Boone County.
Health officials said Wednesday another 52 people in the county have tested positive. The previous high for a single day was 39. As of July 8, 231 cases are active.
Cole County confirmed eight new cases Wednesday. Saline County recorded seven new positives. Audrain and Callaway counties added one.
Statewide, officials confirmed 575 more cases Wednesday. That’s the second-highest daily total yet, behind only Tuesday’s report of 773. The state also added four more COVID-19 deaths, for a total of 1,046.
