Commissioners meet at 1:30 Thursday afternoon at Sturgeon city hall.

Boone County Sheriff Dwayne Carey notes the jail is full with about 200 inmates, while about 230 are housed out-of-county. The cost to house inmates in other jails was about $499,000 in 2022 and commissioners say the cost during the first nine months of 2026 is about more than $3.3 million and will be $4.5 million by year’s end.
