Boone County deputies said the 23-year-old victim of a shooting on Demaret Drive has died.
Louis Green Jr. was shot in the back Wednesday afternoon in the neighborhood just east of the Columbia city limits.
Green was taken to the hospital, but did not survive his injuries.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is now conducting a homicide investigation.
