Boone County’s health department has issued a county-wide mask mandate, which went into effect Wednesday, Nov. 25.
The Boone County Commission voted 2-1 in favor of issuing a mask mandate Tuesday. County leaders had expressed support for implementing a mandate during a conference call on Monday.
The mandate will last through Dec. 8. It requires everyone ages 10 and older to wear a mask around people who are not household members. There are several exceptions.
Individuals that violate the order could face a $15 fine, and businesses that violate the order could be fined $100.
