Boone County prosecutors to dismiss murder case against McLean

The Boone County murder case involving a now-deceased suspect is being dismissed.

ABC 17 reports prosecutors will drop the case against JT McLean. He allegedly strangled Allison Abitz, 43, and drowned her 11-year old daughter, Jozee at their home south of Columbia in August. McLean is also accused of killing Daniel and Pamela Stephan in Miller County.

South Dakota state authorities say McLean killed himself in a motel parking lot last week as state troopers closed in on him.
