UPDATE: Boone County Sheriff’s deputies still searching for suspect who crashed stolen vehicle into other cars

Boone County Sheriff’s deputies continue to work to identify and capture the suspect who stole a Ford Explorer and led deputies on a short pursuit Thursday night, before running a red light at Rangeline and Blue Ridge and slamming into two vehicles.

Deputies say the suspect also ran a red light at Rangeline and Vandiver.

One of the motorists struck by the suspect’s vehicle at Rangeline and Blue Ridge suffered serious injuries, while the other motorist wasn’t hurt. Deputies say a passenger in the suspect’s vehicle, 40-year-old Annie Ledbetter of Columbia, suffered serious injuries.

Boone County Sheriff’s Captain Brian Leer tells 939 the Eagle that deputies continue to work on positive identification and apprehension of the suspect.

Captain Leer also says Ledbetter and the motorist who were struck have been upgraded to stable condition. Anyone with information can call Crimestoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.

A late-night pursuit north of Columbia ended with a stolen vehicle running a red light and crashing into two other vehicles, sending multiple people to hospitals. Their conditions are unknown.

Our news partner ABC-17 reports authorities were pursuing the stolen vehicle on Rangeline, when it ran the red light and slammed into the other cars. The crash happened near Rangeline and Blue Ridge.

KMIZ reports the driver of the stolen vehicle jumped out of the car and fled on foot … he has not been captured. Deputies used K-9’s to try to find him.
