Boone County up to 12 COVID-19 deaths

Boone County reported three additional COVID-19 deaths Tuesday.

The county has now recorded a total of 12 COVID-19 deaths. Health officials say all three patients were older than 80. They all took place within a 10-day span in September.

There were 43 new coronavirus cases reported Wednesday. Active cases fell to 335.

Mizzou reported an increase in active cases among students Wednesday. There were 22 new positives reported and active cases are currently at 81.

Hospitalizations in Boone County rose to 68, which is a record-high but is still below capacity.

Cole County had 25 new cases Wednesday, but active cases stayed the same at 124. Callaway County has counted 39 new cases since Friday and now reports 111 active cases, a small increase.

The state is now on a delay for when it reports its data. There were 564 confirmed cases on Sunday, and seven COVID-19 deaths. Missouri now reports 2,118 deaths from COVID-19.

Mike and Teresa Parson decided on Tuesday to postpone the annual family fall festival at the governor’s mansion in Jefferson City after all.
