Boone County’s clerk forecasts a 17-18 percent voter turnout for April

April’s municipal elections in Missouri are two weeks from Tuesday.

Boone County clerk Brianna Lennon tells 939 the Eagle that she’s projecting about a 17 to 18 percent voter turnout for April.

There is one contested Columbia city council seat this spring. Fifth Ward Councilman Donald Waterman faces challenger Christina Hartman. There are four candidates seeking three seats on Columbia’s school board. The four candidates are school board president John Lyman, board vice president Paul Harper, board member April Ferrao and challenger Keary Husain.
