Boone County’s longtime sheriff supporting Murphy for Columbia mayor

A Columbia businessman who is running for mayor has received the endorsement of longtime Boone County Sheriff Dwayne Carey.

The sheriff praises Johnston Paint and Decorating co-owner Blair “Murph” Murphy, saying Murphy wants to make Columbia safer and stronger.

Carey is in his sixth four-year term as sheriff. Mr. Murphy says he’s honored to have received the endorsement, saying public safety is his top priority and that it’s the top priority for residents as well.
