Boone County’s voter turnout for primary election is 24.54 percent

About 24.5 percent of registered voters in Boone County cast ballots for Tuesday’s primary election, according to Boone County clerk Brianna Lennon. A number of them cast absentee ballots before Tuesday. Clerk Lennon says more than 300 voters cast absentee ballots on Monday, along with a high of more than 320 on Friday. Clerk Lennon had forecast a 25 percent voter turnout.

Of the 31,414 voters who cast ballots, 15,629 of them cast Republican ballots, while 14,665 cast Democratic ballots. 154 voters cast ballots in the Libertarian primary, and 966 voted a nonpartisan ballot, according to numbers from Clerk Lennon’s office.
