Boonville schools on snow routes as flooding closes local roads

The Boonville school district put its buses on snow routes in August.

It was because several low-lying roads were flooded as of Monday morning after heavy weekend rain in that area. Those included Route U over the Petite Saline Creek south of Boonville. In Callaway County, one lane of Highway 94 closed at Logan Creek near Portland, all of Route K closed east of Route O.

The National Weather Service said on Sunday we had an enhanced risk of severe storms in mid-Missouri starting Monday evening.
