The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cardinals 2-1 Wednesday afternoon at American Family field, sweeping the three-game series.
St. Louis falls to 29-25 and they’re four-and-a-half games out of first place in the National League Central division. Cardinal pitcher Dustin May was outstanding on Wednesday and still took the loss. He gives up only two hits in seven innings and struck out nine Brewers.
The Cardinals are idle Thursday and open a three-game series with the Cubs Friday evening at Busch Stadium.
What’s next: St. Louis is idle on Thursday, so there will be no baseball that day on 939 the Eagle.
