Governor Mike Parson will travel to west-central Missouri’s Sedalia for this (Thursday) morning’s opening day ceremony for the 2022 state fair.
The ceremony begins at 11 am near the agriculture building, and the opening day parade is this evening at 6. The Budweiser Clydesdales will be on display in the parade along Missouri State Fair boulevard.
Governor Parson will speak at the opening ceremony and plans to eat lunch at the popular Pork Place on the fairgrounds. The Pork Place is operated by the Columbia-based Missouri Pork Association (MPA), and they’re celebrating their 43rd anniversary this year. The governor will also visit cattle barns today and will meet with FFA students from northwest Missouri’s Stewartsville and Osbourne.
Meantime, Trace Adkins and Lonestar will be performing tonight at the state fair in Sedalia. The concert begins at 7:30 at the grandstand, and it will be followed by a fireworks display.
