Burgers Smokehouse shuts doors after more employees test positive for coronavirus

The production lines at Burgers Smokehouse in California, Mo. are now shut down until at least next week.

Twenty-one employees tested positive for COVID-19. Other staff are considered active probable cases. There are 300 workers employed at the Burgers plant.

Management says they will restart production Thursday, April 30. Workers will be paid during the closure.

As of Wednesday, Moniteau County has confirmed 33 cases of the virus, but officials say dozens more probably have it.
