Callaway County authorities force their way in to a home to arrest a wanted man.
Deputies say Corey Byrd (pictured), 28, would not come to the door of a home on a county road outside New Bloomfield at about 7 p.m. Thursday. They got some backup, then made their way in and arrested the Holts Summit man. Byrd was wanted for violating his parole.
That was the sixth felony arrest the Callaway County Sheriff’s Dept. made during 18 hours of proactive patrols on Thursday.
The arrests started in the Hatton area at about 1 a.m. Thursday. Stormy Harper, 42, of Kingdom City, had a warrant out of Boone County for felony possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested.
The sheriff’s office teamed up with the Missouri Dept. of Conservation on arrests near Hams Prairie at about 9 a.m. They allegedly found a car stolen out of Marshall. Christopher Horn, 39, of Marshall was arrested for that. Jeffrey Nash, 39, of Fulton is also accused of failing to register as a sex offender.
At about 9:38 a.m., Mahayla Camerer, 33, was arrested near her native Portland. She has a drug warrant out of Greene County.
Another arrest of a wanted person happened near Williamsburg a little after 2 p.m. Gary Keeton, 28, had a few felony warrants out of Montgomery County. He also allegedly had marijuana on him when he was caught.
