Callaway County authorities track down suspect in stolen car after chase

A Columbia man is in jail after leading a cop chase in northwestern Callaway County.

Deputies said Tuesday they spotted a stolen vehicle near State Roads ‘E’ and ‘DD.’ The driver refused to pull over, and a chase followed. The car went off-road along County Road 269 and crashed into a tree. The suspect then got out and ran. Deputies later found him hiding in a nearby shed.

There is no word on the suspect’s name yet.
