A Callaway County woman is facing murder charges after an elderly woman was found dead Friday.
The sheriff’s department said on Saturday that Lola Katherine Crews, 62, is now in custody on suspicion of first degree murder and armed criminal action.
Investigators say they found 80-year-old Frances Keel stabbed to death in a home in the town of Guthrie on Friday. Crews, who is Keel’s daughter, was arrested minutes later.
Crews’ son told authorities that she was dealing with mental illness, and had been having issues with her medications for months.
