Cardinals beat New York Yankees 3-1 and take series in the Bronx; Wetherholt provides key hit

The St. Louis Cardinals beat the New York Yankees 3-1 Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium, taking two of three in the series.

The Cardinals had a key two-run double from JJ Wetherholt in the marathon game in the Bronx, which also had a one hour-plus rain delay. St. Louis improves to 57-58 this season.

St. Louis is off Thursday and they’re back at Busch Stadium Friday evening to open a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies.
