Columbia firefighters say there were no injuries in Tuesday morning’s fire at the Five Guys restaurant on East Broadway, near Highway 63.
The Columbia Fire Department (CFD) was dispatched at about 7:55 am to a reported commercial structure fire there. CFD found smoke inside Five Guys and located a fire in a heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) unit on the roof. Crews were able to contain the fire and prevent it from extending into the roof.
Columbia fire investigators say the fire has been determined to be electrical and accidental in nature.
