The Chiefs scored on offense, defense, and special teams in a 43-16 win over the Broncos on Sunday in snowy Denver.
Dan Sorensen returned an interception by former Mizzou quarterback Drew Lock 50 yards for a touchdown. Byron Pringle had a 102-yard kickoff return for a score.
Reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes had a quiet day for the Chiefs (6-1), throwing for 200 yards and a late touchdown to Tyreek Hill. Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushed for 46 yards and a score. Running back Le’Veon Bell, in his Chiefs debut, rushed six times for 39 yards.
Lock, a Lee’s Summit native, struggled against his former favorite team, throwing two interceptions. He did finish with 254 yards passing and a rushing touchdown. His college teammate, tight end Albert Okwuegbunam, led the Broncos (2-4) with seven receptions for 60 yards.
The Chiefs host the winless Jets on Sunday.
