City council discussing airport name, ward boundary committee Monday

The potential renaming of Columbia Regional Airport is on the agenda for the city council Monday.

The airport board has recommended changing it to Columbia National Airport, saying it will better reflect its growth. Construction of a new terminal is underway now, and should be open next summer.

The council may also vote to create a committee to review city ward boundary lines. Any changes to ward boundaries would need to be approved by the next municipal election in April 2022.
