City and county officials look at the expanding west side of Columbia.
ABC 17 reports the West Area plan includes new developments to land north of Gillespie Bridge Road and west of Scott Boulevard.
Officials said Thursday they are trying to get ahead of possible problems with issues like roads and sewers during the growth. The process could take about a year and a half.
