City of Ashland puts police chief on administrative leave

Ashland’s police chief has been put on paid administrative leave. The city administrator made the announcement Tuesday.

The city said it will provide more information on the personnel matter regarding Lyn Woolford at a later time.

Woolford has been police chief since 2013. He was named “America’s favorite crossing guard” in 2019.

The release says deputy chief Terry Toalson will serve as interim chief, a move that will be made official during the next board of aldermen meeting.
