Columbia Parks and Recreation is planning to hold their annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. candlelight walk and memorial celebration Monday evening.
The prominent civil rights leader was assassinated in 1968 in Memphis. Columbia Parks and Recreation says tonight’s candlelight walk will start at 6:30 at the Armory Sports Center om East Ash. Participants will gather in the Armory’s basement. They’ll then walk by candlelight to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church on East Ash, for the memorial celebration at 7.
Participants will celebrate and reflect on Dr. King’s life.
