Claudell Lane murder suspect pleads to lesser charge

It’s a lesser charge for one of the people involved in a deadly botched drug deal in Columbia in 2016.

The Daily Tribune reports Dariel Reid (pictured, left) pleaded guilty on Monday to felony distribution of a controlled substance.

Reid was also looking at second-degree murder at one point over the death of Keith Chambers. Chambers was shot and killed on Claudell Lane. Reid was shot too.

Navarro Scott got 12 years in prison after his guilty plea last week. Brian Smith (pictured, right) pleaded guilty in June, and is serving 15 years in prison.
