Coalition trying to save downtown Columbia’s Katy Station holding Sunday evening at Shiloh downtown

An unusual coalition that includes progressives, Republicans and others continues to try to save the historic Katy railroad station in downtown Columbia.

They’re inviting you to a Sunday event to learn about the building’s past and possible future uses. The group “Save the Katy Station” says Sunday’s event is from 5-8 at Shiloh Bar and Grill, which is housed in the Katy Station.

Former Boone County commissioner Fred Parry has told 939 the Eagle that the coalition hopes to convince the potential new owners to rethink their location for student housing.
