If you own a small Cole County business that fell on hard times because of the pandemic, you might have a shot at some CARES Act money.
Commissioner-elect Harry Otto says those businesses can apply for assistance through the end of September.
“[The current commissioners] have chopped up the $9 million that’s been allocated to the county, and I think a wise thing is they just put about 20% of it off to the side and said let’s call this contingency, about $1.8 million.”
About $2 million of the funds have been earmarked for public and private schools in the county. Affected businesses could share in about $200,000.
