Cole County Health Department prepares for school re-opening

Will a single case of coronavirus within a Cole County school be enough to shut down classes again?

Chezney Schulte with the Cole County Health Department said they won’t be taking that approach.

“We’re going to do the contact investigation as well as we can and as quickly as we can, and isolate those individuals that were actually exposed,” said Schulte.

Schulte said there are still lots of questions to be answered before schools reopen in-class learning. Those include how kids will be able to socially distance and which age groups will be required to wear masks.

Gov. Parson spoke with school administrators and teachers on Tuesday at the new Capital City High School in Jefferson City about re-opening plans.
