Cole County health official updates on flu cases

Cole County health officials say the threat of coronavirus showing up in Missouri is still low. But that could change.

Chezney Schulte says doctors’ office are taking precautions.

“Many facilities this time of year have a posting outside their door saying that if you have a cough, fever, any signs of an acute respiratory illness such as seasonal flu, [you need] to put on a surgical mask before going into the waiting room,” said Schulte.

Schulte says the common flu has hit Mid-Missouri hard. She adds that the flu shot is still a good idea even though she admits that many people who received the vaccination still came down with the bug.
