Cole County hospitals are admitting new COVID-19 patients every day.
The Cole County Health Department’s Chezney Schulte says they’re working with the hospitals to determine which COVID-19 variant is showing up.
“[Compared to] beginning- to mid-December where maybe that could’ve been Delta, now do we see that the variant in the community and the people testing positive, if they have Omicron, do as many of those people end up hospitalized,” said Schulte.
Schulte adds the overall confirmed cases are rising as well in Cole County. She says they’ve seen close to 200 new cases some days.
