Columbia area has received more than seven inches of rain in June; more rain heading for region

June’s rainfall numbers at Columbia Regional Airport (COU) are staggering, with more rain heading to mid-Missouri Wednesday and Thursday.

National Weather Service (NWS) St. Louis meteorologist Jayson Gosselin tells 939 the Eagle that 7.12 inches of rain have fallen at COU in June, more than double the normal amount of 2.96 inches at this point in June. June has featured some flooding and water rescues as well.

Gosselin also says Columbia Regional Airport (COU) has seen 15.47 inches of rain since May 1.
