The ground in Columbia and across mid-Missouri is saturated and more rain will come on Thursday into Friday this week.
National Weather Service (NWS) St. Louis meteorologist Melissa Delia tells 939 the Eagle that 5.14 inches of rain have fallen so far in April at Columbia Regional Airport (COU). Some of that fell during Friday night’s strong storms. She notes 2.8 inches of rain is normal for this point in the month.
The NWS in St. Louis says up to an inch of additional rainfall is likely in the Columbia area on Thursday into Friday, and there is the potential for severe weather. Keep your radio tuned to 939 the Eagle.
