Columbia/Boone County home prices increase in April

Prices for single-family home sales jumped again in April in Columbia and Boone County.

The Columbia Board of Realtors says the median home price in Columbia increased 15 percent in April, to $360,000. The median price in Boone County was up 11 percent to $345,000. The Board of Realtors says the higher price increase in Columbia is due to a jump in new construction sales.

Columbia city manager De’Carlon Seewood addressed housing costs during Friday’s state of the city address. He says the city is growing, saying growth comes with an increased demand for housing at all income levels.
