The nation’s second oldest women’s college has found itself in court with Columbia-based Huebert Builders.

The dispute involves a $2-million construction project at the college last year. 939 the Eagle’s Mike Murphy, who publishes Comobuz-dot-com, reports Huebert Builders says it’s owed $680,000. Huebert Builders has filed for a mechanics lien against historic Stephens College.

Stephens College says it did not approve about a half-million dollars in change orders and says work to improve an elevated walkway near Windsor Auditorium was never completed. Murphy reports Stephens’ counterclaim accuses Huebert Builders of breach of contract.
