Columbia city manager Seewood’s budget to be introduced during Monday’s city council meeting

The Columbia city manager’s proposed budget will be introduced at Monday night’s city council meeting.

A public presentation on city manager De’Carlon Seewood’s proposed budget is set for 6 this evening in the council chambers. Mr. Seewood’s proposed budget increases the Columbia police department’s budget by 0.7 percent and the fire department’s budget by 2.5 percent. CPD’s current budget is $35.4 million, while CFD’s budget is $31.4 million.

There will be no public hearing on the budget blueprint tonight. The first public hearing is August 17.
