Columbia College, which was established in 1851, celebrates its spring 2025 commencement on Friday and Saturday. 344 graduates will earn their degrees on Saturday. Columbia College spokesman Sam Fleury says the graduates represent eight countries: the United States, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Nepal, the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey. Saturday’s commencement ceremonies will take place at 10 am and at 2 pm.

41 nursing students will receive their nurse’s pins Friday evening at Launer Auditorium. That ceremony is at 6:30.

And many Columbia College students will participate in the spring 2025 ivy chain ceremony on Bass Commons on Friday afternoon. Mr. Fleury notes this is a 125-year-old ceremony. Students will form a circle draped in ivy near Tenth and Rogers.
