Columbia Council considers roundabouts along Nifong

The Columbia City Council on Monday night starts looking at the next step in the construction of some new roundabouts on the south side.

The city is looking at getting the easements needed to build single-lane roundabouts along Nifong at Sinclair Road and Old Mill Creek Road. It’ll cost more than $2.5 million, paid for through the voter-approved Capital Improvement Sales Tax. The first reading on the plan was scheduled for Monday night.

Columbia Public Schools just celebrated the groundbreaking of a new middle school on Sinclair Road last week. The school and the roundabouts should be ready by the fall of 2020.
