Columbia council holds hearing on Route H shift

The Columbia City Council on Monday night is holding a public hearing about shifting the road that gets you to the airport.

Officials want to shift Route H to the northeast, to make room for a big expansion to the main Columbia Regional Airport runway.

Construction would start in the summer if approved. It will cost more than $3.2 million, but the federal government is paying for 90 percent of it. MoDot and the city of Columbia are each contributing $163,340.
