Columbia council set to approve north side police substation

The Columbia City Council is on track to approve a new police substation on the north side Monday night.

It would go near Range Line and Brown School Road, on International Drive in the Auburn Hills subdivision. That’s not far from where someone got shot early Friday, at Bodie Dr. and Edenton Blvd. No arrests in that case yet.

The $7.26 million substation was approved by voters as part of a sales tax renewal in 2015. Construction is set to start next spring.
