Columbia council set to receive report on short-term rental regulations

The Columbia City Council has more talk scheduled on Monday night about short-term rental regulations.

Members are receiving a report from staffers that includes amendments on the rentals like Airbnb. Owners would not have to be in their homes with the guests. They could only rent them out 95 days a year. The city now plans to collect a $2 per night nuisance enforcement fee.

The planning and zoning commission is holding a hearing on the short-term rental regulations on March 5. The council could give its final approval a couple weeks after that.
