The Columbia City Council holds a public hearing on Monday night on the construction of a new recycling drop-off center. It would go in a city parking lot near Cosmo Park on West Business Loop 70.
Trash and recycling have piled up at other Columbia drop-off sites after the city changed its trash system in February. Customers only get a certain amount of city-approved trash bags, and recycling is picked up every other week.
If approved, the new drop-off center would cost $30,000 and open in the fall.
