Columbia Councilman comments on new water rates

Councilman Matt Pitzer says Columbians did not vote for the new way to charge for water.

Pitzer says voters only agreed to a three percent rate increase with the water bond issue last August.

Those that use the most in the summer could see a 50-percent bigger bill. However, Pitzer expects the average customer will only see water bills go up a couple percent.
