Columbia fire crews put out fire on Jefferson Street

Columbia fire crews quickly control an attic fire.

They saw smoke coming from the attic at 903 Jefferson Street when they arrived just after 12:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters controlled the flames in about 15 minutes.

Crews say faulty wiring in the attic sparked the fire. Nobody was hurt, but the fire did about $10,000 of damage.
