Columbia man accused of throwing knife at woman, other domestic violence

A Columbia man is accused of throwing a knife at a woman during a domestic assault.

Joseph McDermott, 33, was booked into Boone County Jail early Wednesday on suspicion of second degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.

A woman told police late Tuesday that McDermott threw a three-inch dagger at her and a hard drive. Officers say she had injuries consistent with being choked. She says McDermott choked her with a phone charger cable until she went unconscious.
