A May trial has been set for a Columbia suspect charged with the gruesome killing of a woman with a hammer in 2022.

Boone County Circuit Judge Stephanie Morrell has scheduled a May 13 trial for 39-year-old Adam Conner, who is charged with second degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. Conner is accused of using a hammer to beat 59-year-old Patricia Kelly to death in October 2022 at a home on High Quest drive. That’s near Smiley lane in north Columbia. Conner is being charged as a prior and persistent offender. He has a lengthy criminal record in multiple mid-Missouri counties.
It took Columbia Police several days to make a positive identification, due to the victim’s injuries.
