A Columbia suspect who pleaded guilty last week to domestic assault is jailed without bond, now charged with kidnapping, domestic assault and stealing.

Boone County prosecutors say 20-year-old Carmine Cobb allegedly beat the female victim and dragged her into a wooded area to avoid police detection. Graphic court documents say she was also punched in the face. The Columbia Police Department’s redacted two-page probable cause statement alleges Cobb stole the victim’s Iphone to keep her from calling police.

A court filing from Boone County prosecutors doesn’t mince words about Cobb: “He has shown that he cannot contain his violent instincts even a week and has shown that he will waste no time violently attacking a member of the community.”

What’s next: Cobb made his initial court appearance on Monday in Boone County Circuit Court, via video. His next court appearance hasn’t been set at this time.
