Columbia man sentenced for trying to buy chemical weapon

A Columbia man gets a 12-year sentence for trying to buy online a chemical weapon that could kill 300 people.

A federal judge sentenced Jason Siesser, 46, on Tuesday.

Siesser pleaded guilty in August 2020 to trying to order the deadly poison in 2018. He was arrested after a raid at his place on Southhampton. Investigators also found threatening letters Siesser apparently wrote to women he had been dating.
