Columbia manhunt leads to arrest of domestic assault suspect

Columbia police go on a manhunt for a domestic assault suspect.

Morris McDonald, 34, allegedly assaulted his wife on Tuesday morning near Buttonwood Drive.

Officers say they saw McDonald drive by the victim’s house at Bryant Walkway Apartments. They tried to pull him over, but he allegedly sped off.

They stopped the chase, but McDonald apparently crashed anyway on Stadium near West Boulevard and ran. Authorities found him, unconscious, in an abandoned building near West Winds Park. He was in a hospital at last check. He will be going to jail after that on several charges.
