There have been eight shootings in downtown Columbia since mid-September.
The city council will hear a presentation Monday night from health director Stephanie Browning about the mayor’s task force on community violence, and the recommendations they made in November 2014.
Ms. Browning is also expected to discuss highlights from that report.
Columbia city councilman Matt Pitzer has said that CPD officers are working long hours and overtime to try to stop the violence.
