A Columbia man suffers moderate injuries after his vehicle was struck head-on on Christmas Eve by a stolen vehicle whose driver was reportedly heading the wrong way on Forum Boulevard.

Missouri state troopers say 61-year-old Ronald Ballenger was transported to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of moderate injuries. The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report says the incident happened at 9:15 pm on Christmas Eve, when a Dodge Ram driven by 20-year-old Avion Skillman was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of Forum and struck Mr. Ballenger’s Hyundai. Skillman was not injured.

The crash happened at Forum and Woodrail.

Our news partner KMIZ reports authorities are seeking multiple charges against Skillman, including resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident and other charges. A Boone County deputy tells KMIZ’s Mitch Kaminski that authorities were chasing a stolen car.
